- What is the Power Plate machine?
- The Power Plate machine is the leading Acceleration Training™ device, used by people of all ages and physical abilities, to help improve their fitness, health and wellbeing.
- How does the Power Plate machine work?
- The Power Plate machine vibrates, or moves, in three different directions. These tiny movements put the body out of balance. To correct this imbalance, the muscles unconsciously make very rapid reflex contractions. Therefore, the muscles are almost continuously contracted. As training on the Power Plate machine is so extremely effective, the time spent exercising can be reduced. However, make no mistake - it is still hard work.
- How often should I use the Power Plate machine?
- This very much depends on the purpose of your training and your individual fitness. A general guideline is that you should leave approximately 48 hours between exercise sessions where you are training the same muscle group. If you alternate between training different muscle groups on different days, you should be able to train every day.
- Some studios have different machines?
- Power Plate is considered the market leader with more than ten years experience in Acceleration Training™ products and services. Their products have been developed by their research and development team, based on proven scientific findings about the effect of specific vibration exercise programme's. Our staff are fully trained to teach the courses we offer and we have to attend new courses annually to keep our authorised studio status.
- Is there any proof that the Power Plate machine works?
- There have been hundreds of independent research studies into the various effects of Acceleration Training™ exercise, carried out by prestigious universities around the world. The results of these studies have been published in international academic journals, making their conclusions part of the official scientific record. You can visit Power Plates library to learn more or see our testimonials page to see what our clients say.
- I have heard that the Power Plate machine can be dangerous. Is this true?
- Since it's launch in 2000, quite literally hundreds of thousands of people around the world have used the Power Plate machine, some for many years, with no adverse effects reported. Such wide spread use over an extended period indicates that the Power Plate machine is a safe and effective form of exercise. There are some pre-existing medical conditions which may make the Power Plate machine an unsuitable option. Our certified trainer, along with the expertise of Power Plate and your medical specialist can help you with further advice this.
